Howard Phillips Lovecraft was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on August 20, 1890, and passed away in the same city on March 15, 1937. Better known as H. P. Lovecraft, he was an American writer who revolutionized the horror genre by infusing it with fantastical elements typical of fantasy and science fiction genres.
