Autorenporträt
Lia Parsons, a social activist in her mid-sixties, is dedicated to tackling ageism and promoting positive ageing. With a background in nursing and occupational therapy, she has professional knowledge and expertise combined with lived experience. Her focus is on 'engaging with' instead of 'doing for' people, to encourage and motivate each individual to take responsibility for their own future ageing years and their own living and dying. As she believes everyone intrinsically knows their own wishes and needs.Lia's book 'Getting Older - Let's Talk About It' has been test-driven in the numerous face-to-face conversations she has had with hundreds of individuals; her clients, program participants and friends throughout her professional and personal life.
