Hakim S. EL-Quhir, a former Marine Corps Staff Sergeant and retired Warden at Rikers Island, is the author of "Gale, the Time Transport Man." He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Empire State University. Inspired by a football game in 1965 featuring Chicago Bear Gale Sayers, Hakim admired him so much that he named the main character of his book after him. Hakim in 2011 started brainstorming for "Gale, the Time Transport Man". A lifelong learner, his passion for never being too old to learn motivated him to write this novel. He has a passion for romance, adventure, comedy, drama, mystery or science fiction movies, and enjoys photography. A sports enthusiast, he's a dedicated fan of the New York Mets, Jets and Knicks, and loves jogging. Originally from Lakeview, Long Island, New York, Hakim now resides in Wyandanch, Long Island, New York and drew inspiration from these areas for his novel. Above all, his greatest love is for his two children, Nassan and Nylah.
