Air Marshal Iyer embarked on a fitness journey when he was 47 years old, a journey that enabled him to run more than one hundred and twenty thousand kilometres. This includes several marathon races of 42 kilometres, and an ultra-marathon, from Agra to Delhi, a distance of 240 kilometres. Presently, at the age of 92, he continues to run 8 km a day and works out in the gym five days in a week.
