Autorenporträt
Ricarda Huch (1864-1947) war eine deutsche Schriftstellerin, Dichterin, Philosophin und Historikerin. Im Jahr 1892 wurde sie als eine der ersten deutschen Frauen überhaupt an der Philosophischen Fakultät der Universität Zürich mit einer historischen Arbeit promoviert. In München kam sie auch in Kontakt mit der Frauenbewegung. Im Jahr 1926 wurde Ricarda Huch als erste Frau in die Preußische Dichter-Akademie aufgenommen. Als Historikerin, widmete Huch sich seit den 1910er Jahren der italienischen, deutschen und russischen Geschichte. Ihre historischen Romane sind meist psychologisch-biographisch. Unter anderem verfasste sie Biographien über Michail Bakunin und Federico Confalonieri.
