Deena Gray-Johnson writes books. The Queens, New York native is a natural-born humanitarian, the mother of six young adults, and the wife of an electrician. She is an aspiring karaoke singer who realizes that she is tone deaf but has yet to come to terms with her disadvantage. Deena experienced a lot of challenges being raised in the foster care system of New York City. Because of this, she has devoted her life to empowering others through motivational speaking via her company Awesomeness after Adversity. Deena is a certified Life Coach and is the director of an employment program which services individuals who are developmentally disabled. She has taken the misfortunes of her past and are now using them to try to help others realize that their adversities are not necessarily their destinies.
