Dr Pushppal Singh is a renowned Hindi critic, and has been researching the Hindi short story and its trends for the last thirty-five years. He has published many books on Hindi literary criticism. The important ones are Samkaleen Kahani: Naya Paripekshya, Samkaleen Kahani: Rachna Mudra, Samkaleen Hindi Kahani: Soch Aur Samajh,Bhoomandlikaran Aur Hindi Upanyas. His collection of Hindi short stories Taarekh Ka Intezar has stories translated into many Indian languages.
