A magical middle-grade adventure story set in Wales and entwined with British folklore and mythology

'Both the protagonists and the worlds are simply lovingly designed' Sallys Books

On a summer holiday in Wales, Portia and Ben find a mysterious door set in a bramble hedge in the middle of a forest. It is a portal to the Otherworld and should never be opened, but how are they supposed to know that? After all, the old stories about the wonders and dangers of the Otherworld have long been forgotten ...

For Robin Goodfellow, the man with the fox shadow, the children are his last chance to open the portal and finally return home. But for everyone else, the door spells great danger. This thrilling fantasy adventure immerses young readers deep in the world of British myths and legends.

Autorenporträt
Kathrin Tordasi was born in the south of Germany and has been a bookworm since she was little and started making up her own stories when her Dad gave her his old typewriter. She dreamed of becoming an explorer, a pirate or a writer and eventually decided to go for the third option (mostly because she gets horribly seasick). After spending a year in Bangor, Wales, she came up with the idea for a book about a girl who follows a fox into faerie. Bramble Fox was first published in German in 2020, when it won the Goldener Bücherpirat Prize 2021 and the Fürther Lupe Prize 2021, both voted for by children, and now it has been translated into English . Kathrin lives in Berlin where she can usually be found browsing through local bookshops, writing in cafés or exploring the nearby lakes and forests.
