What if you found out that much of what you know about the concept born again is actually unbiblical? Surely, that's a disturbing thought because born again defines everything you are as a Christian. So, to misunderstand born again is to misunderstand everything about who you are as a follower of Jesus. Born again is a buzzword among Christians, yet notwithstanding, it's sad to admit that most Christians don't truly understand the term. Many Christians think that born again has to do with praying the sinner's prayer. But does this prayer have anything to do with being born again?

What if you found out that much of what you know about the concept born again is actually unbiblical? Surely, that's a disturbing thought because born again defines everything you are as a Christian. So, to misunderstand born again is to misunderstand everything about who you are as a follower of Jesus. Born again is a buzzword among Christians, yet notwithstanding, it's sad to admit that most Christians don't truly understand the term. Many Christians think that born again has to do with praying the sinner's prayer. But does this prayer have anything to do with being born again?

In Born Again: Rediscovering and Reasserting the Biblical Perspective, Vusimuzi Mazibuko clarifies misunderstandings concerning born again by answering four of the essential questions related to the term: (1) who causes an individual to be born again, (2) how is an individual recognised as being born again, (3) how can an individual know whether or not he is born again, and lastly, (4) can the new birth be lost (can one be born again today and be unborn again tomorrow?).

Autorenporträt
Vusimuzi Mazibuko is a 25-year-old qualified teacher (Bachelor of Education in Senior and FET, North West University) and a Christian-worker involved in various ministries in two local churches (Assemblies of God Blydeville Elohim and Shekinah Cathedral) in the North West province, South Africa). His knowledge in the field of theology is self-taught. His worldview and perspective on the Scriptures have been greatly influenced by old and modern theologians, including Thomas Watson, Jonathan Edwards, Arthur Pink, Martyn Lloyd Jones, John MacArthur, Paul Washer, and John Piper.

As a Christian-worker, Vusimuzi is often involved in teaching thematically through passages in the Bible during Bible Study sessions. He has written dozens of unpublished articles on various subjects concerning the Christian faith. His articles have sparked conversations among many believers locally and continue to receive inspiring feedback. Several churches have invited him to preach. Furthermore, together with a couple from Assemblies of God, he hosts a newly started annual youth conference (Youth Matters to Christ), in which he hopes that God will kindle a love for the Gospel and a righteous lifestyle in young people. Vusimuzi lives in Lichtenburg, North West, with his wife and daughter.
