Book 1. Imperial Russia. 19th Century.
Count Selivanov dies on his estate near Kaluga. He invites a renowned lawyer to draw up a will. The count informs about all his relatives and about the illegally born daughter Emma Riger-Artemyeva.
Emma receives news of the death of her own father and goes to her cousin Stanislav in the hope of getting more information. Stanislav is going through a crisis: he is ruined, his mistress kicked him out of her house. Stanislav decides to shoot himself. However, he also receives news of the death of the count, his uncle. He hopes that he will receive a certain amount of money as an inheritance and will be able to pay off debts. Emma meets with Stanislav, but the cousin cannot tell the girl anything new. Esmeralda, the Count's own sister, also receives the news of the death of the count. Her real name is Elena. But the woman thought of herself as a medium and she maintains a magic salon in which various suspicious personalities live. In addition to the illegally born daughter, nephew and sibling, a few more relatives will receive a notice of the death of the count. All of them have been invited to the Kaluga estate for the announcement of the will. How will the meeting of the count's relatives end? It's no secret that each of them has its own 'skeleton in the closet'.
Book 2. Imperial Russia. 19th Century.

There are actually six heirs indicated in the will. But most importantly: this is the content of the will! The Count hid jewelry worth two million rubles on the territory of his vast estate. And in his will, he indicated: the inheritance in the form of a treasure will go to the relative who finds the treasure. If this does not happen before the end of the summer, then all the property of the count will be transferred to the church. The heirs were shocked by the condition of the will. Esmeralda, the Count's own sister (in reality, Elena) is trying to conduct a spiritual séance to find out where her brother hid the treasures. However, the spirit of the late brother did not reveal the secret. Emma tries to seduce the lawyer who is still on the estate. The girl hopes that the lawyer has the information she needs. But alas... As a result, a fire starts in the mansion house...
