This is the third book by Clarence Watkins, an author and Southern baseball historian, in Arcadia's Images of Baseball series. Watkins is a cofounder of the Southern Association Baseball Conference, a member of the Society for American Baseball Research, and a research member of the Negro Southern League Museum in Birmingham and serves on the board of directors of the Friends of Rickwood.
