While conducting business in multiple countries, he gets to experience jumping into a frozen lake in Scandinavia, sandstorms in the Arabian Peninsula, and bugs the sizes of dinner plates in Southeast Asia, as well as a host of international business issues from contract negotiations to export controls to corruption. He also gets to experience many of the vast arrays of cultures provided by the world beyond the safe harbors of the United States.

Travel with Dr. Colegrove as he learns to explore and enjoy the world while learning also how international business can be frustrating and complex but ultimately enjoyable and rewarding.

Autorenporträt

Alan S. Colegrove, PE, PhD, has been in the international arena for over forty years. After serving seven years as a US Navy fighter pilot, he entered the defense-aerospace industry, spending most of thirty years in international business. He has lived three times overseas, has advanced academic degrees from three continents, and has traveled to over four dozen countries, doing business in about half of them. His experiences include East Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. His doctorate was in an obscure branch of defense economics known as offsets or countertrade. Dr. Colegrove currently resides in Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay with his wife of over thirty-five years. He has two grown children (who, when younger, lived overseas with him on one of his assignments) and one grandchild.
