In addition to introducing the main concepts of modern algebra, new topic are added: categories and functors; an introduction to representations of finite groups; projective and injective modules; an introduction to noetherian rings and modules and to Hilbert's Nullstellensatz. There is ample material for a two semester course in abstract algebra.
