Autorenporträt
Originally from Australia, Shannon now lives in the Central Drakensberg region of South Africa with her husband. She studied Occupational Therapy at the University of Queensland before entering the mission field in 2008 and completed the School of Biblical Studies with Youth with a Mission in 2010. She has worked with Christian organisations in East and Southern Africa teaching on Inductive Bible Study and co-founded the NGO Redefined Ministries International in 2011. Redefined Ministries continues its community development work in Mahagi Territory, Democratic Republic of Congo; Shannon completes administrative work for them from home, visiting as often as she can. Shannon is passionate about seeing the Word of God lived out and combines this with her love of writing to make His Word known. She holds to the words of 2 Timothy 3:14-17: "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work." In addition to A Walk through Winter, Shannon authored the biographical work Congolese Grandpa, which details the life of an extraordinary man still completing community development and medical work in his nation into his eighties. He has lived through many eras of the Democratic Republic of Congo, starting when it was still a Belgian colony. All author proceeds from this work go back into community development in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Being released in late 2015 is Shannon's extensive Bible study resource to equip believers in the Word, entitled The Bible Companion. It is a resource for any believer or small group hungry to get beyond the surface when reading and studying the Bible. Additionally, she has written a number of contemporary Christian novels.
