Buttons the snowboy convinces his mother to let him wear his new Christmas outfit when he goes sledding on Christmas Eve. Buttons struggles to keep on his royal blue top hat, light blue scarf, and silver mittens as he takes his rides down the hill. He decides his clothes would be much safer under a large pine tree at the bottom of the hill. When he goes back to the tree, he discovers that all his new clothes that his Grandma had made him are gone! He feels terrible; but this unexpected event leads to something wonderful. Gayle Paben is a retired elementary school teacher from Sarasota, Florida. As a teacher she wrote many poems and skits for her classes for performances. Gayle enjoys playing piano and performing in a bell choir. She loves to paint and to write children's books. She received two Silver medals from Florida Authors and Publishers Association for The Poetry of Animals, a book that teaches about the adaptations of animals. She recently won a Bronze medal from FAPA for her children's novel The Colors of the Sea. This book teaches about the joys and hazards of Florida living that a young girl discovers when she moves to Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida.
