It's the first night of summer, and fifteen year-old Sara James is sleeping outside on her backyard trampoline with her best friend, Kai. As Anjalie gently touches Sara's hand, she is elevated into the sky next to her. Together they fly away from Sara's home in Arizona, to the coast, and over the Pacific Ocean. They soar across the water, and into the subtle dimension of Earth: an unmapped, tropical region complete with turquoise water and white-sand beaches, called Satchandia. Here, anything can happen, including falling in love with a rugged, green-eyed boy and body-surfing with mermaids. To stay one step ahead of the dark force that desires her failure, Sara transforms into the superhero version of herself. This American girl will never be the same.

Autorenporträt

Amanda Rose Baker was inspired to write A Mermaid's Dream during her years of living on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Kauai's pristine water, perfect beaches, and lush jungle were the basis for the fantastical realm of Satchandia. Amanda holds an anthropology degree from the University of Utah and has traveled extensively, spending many years as an outdoor adventurer. Her latest adventure is as the homeschooling mother of two kids. She now lives in Washington State with them, her husband, and their dog. She is also a yoga instructor and health coach, as well as working to create the sequel to A Mermaid's Dream.
