Through sadness, love, brokenness and pain; the author paints for us a picture of her own personal struggle through doubt and instability that life can be lived not only through pain but through the experiencing of struggles, doubts and insecurities a person can build a higher consciousness of oneself and, through her eyes therefore experience a sense of positivity and self love and how this can both quiet and quell many of those personal insecurities. She believes that love and as she has learned self love"is not easily achieved but is learned through trial and error, travails, and experiences is what makes life truly rich.

Autorenporträt

Esther Cohen is a writer, teacher, bookdoctor, and labor activist. For many years she ran Bread and Roses, a national cultural program for workers. She started a program called UnseenAmerica and co-founded the Clara Lemlich Awards for women activists. Her poem/photograph series with Matthew Septimus is featured at On Being. She is the author of six books, including Breakfast With Allen Ginsberg (poetry), Bookdoctor (fiction) and Don't Mind Me and Other Jewish Lies, illustrated by Roz Chast.
