'Throughout this book, the love for his daughter shines through. He has told the story as best he can without being mean. I think this is a book that took immense strength of character to write. I would recommend it to everyone, especially those with children.' - Goodreads Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'A Heartbroken Daughter' is a continuation of the heartbreaking true story 'A Father's Daughter'. A year has passed since the injustice of the court's decision. The suffering continues as a child desperately pleads to return home. Instead, held hostage by a narcissistic mother whos only thought is herself. Her father sacrifices a career to always be there for his daughter. The journey is arduous as he ventures north and south of the country. Covering an extraordinary one thousand miles, alternate weekends. The story is heartbreaking as they both hold onto the precious life they had and the memories of their past. Jessie continues to grow and mature since being ordered by the Court to reside with her mother. A decision, both of us struggle to comprehend. She is now ten-years-old. Her desires never change, wanting to live back at home with me - her father. For now, we suffer injustice. I sacrifice to keep our relationship alive. Pass up excellent career opportunities to make myself available. Travel the excruciating distance alternate weekends; one thousand miles. Back and forth Friday, and the same for her return Sunday. Sadly Jessie has to endure five hundred miles of the journey. Not fair for any child. She would, however, not have it any other way. Our time together is too precious. I often think I'm doing everything for her. She deserves no less. The reality is that I am also doing it for me. I couldn't bear living a life without her. My heart would be empty and any success meaningless.

Author's Note

Writing A Father's Daughter was liberating. A chance to correct the lies and tell the real story; forever one of my most significant accomplishments. It weighs heavily on me that what happens after Family Court often goes unsaid. Peoples lives unravel, but rarely a documentation of the struggles or liberation in those proceeding months and years later. A Heartbroken Daughter is a continuation of A Father's Daughter which documented the Court process, and now what happens after Court proceedings. Writing A Heartbroken Daughter has been tormenting with my mind exhausted; often struggling to proceed on numerous occasions. I get no satisfaction from telling such a personal story just a sense of frustration, loss, and bewilderment. I share my thoughts and feelings on everything that has happened as I see them. The other parties involved may see things differently, but I cannot speak on their behalf. Bitterness and frustrations threatened to derail the story but with time comes wisdom and in-turn reflection. There were moments when I questioned whether to continue writing, stop, move on, and put it all behind me. These moments were frequent. Even as I finished writing the story, the pondering whether to publish was ever-present. It hasn't been an easy process or a decision taken lightly, nor has it been done for malice. Courts make decisions every day, which affect the lives of many. Often those decisions are endured in silence. I felt strongly that for once, in my daughters' case at least, our situation needed to be documented and shared.
