Louis du Preez is a professor of zoology at North-West University and holds a PhD in amphibian parasitology. He heads the African Amphibian Conservation Research Group. His research interest focuses on amphibians, including their conservation, parasites and diseases, subjects on which he publishes regularly. His books include Field Guide and Key to the Frogs and Toads of the Free State; Field Guide to the Frogs and Toads of the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site and Bios: An Integrated Approach to Life-Science Teaching and Learning.
