Autorenporträt
Wendy Gorton holds a master's degree in learning technologies and is a former classroom teacher. As part of her quest to bring science education alive, she worked as a National Geographic Fellow in Australia researching Tasmanian devils, a PolarTREC teacher researcher in archaeology in Alaska, an Earthwatch teacher fellow in the Bahamas and New Orleans, and a GoNorth! teacher explorer studying climate change via dogsled in Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Today, she is a global education consultant who has traveled to more than fifty countries to design programs, build communities, and inspire other educators to do the same.
Kristin Tillack holds a degree in child development and in business and cultivates a passion for emotional intelligence through outdoor experiences. She was a classroom teacher and a snowboard instructor before becoming an entrepreneur in the childcare management industry and starting RaisingHikers.com, which encourages families to include their young kids in outdoor adventures and empowers them to have the confidence, knowledge, and skills to do so successfully and safely. Kristin's family has trekked hundreds of miles throughout the North Cascades, the Canadian Rockies, the Rocky Mountains, dozens of national parks, and in Europe.
