In the Bible, there is a story in the Book of Matthew about a man who leaves money to three of his servants before he travels out of town on a long journey. He gave bags of silver to each one and each one had to make a financial decision. The first servant invested his five bags of silver and earned five more. The second servant also invested his two bags and earned two more. The third servant was afraid of losing money, so he buried his bag of silver in the ground and did not earn any more. The master returned and praised his servants that invested the silver and doubled the money, but he disparaged the servant who hid the money and earned no interest.

Like the servants in the story, you also have a financial decision to make. Do you bury your money in a bank out of the fear of losing it? Or do you invest your earnings so that you can double your money? To obtain the financial reward, you have to be willing to take some level of financial risk.

In 2019, only 1 in 14 cryptocurrency wallets are held by women and according to Bloomberg only 15% of crypto traders are women. When the current monetary system was created, the opportunity for women to participate equally was nonexistent. The gender roles of the past are still influencing the modern financial system. According to a report by the Center for American Progress on the status of women in poverty, women are more likely to live below the poverty level than men across all racial and ethnic groups. Women also have a longer average life expectancy than men, which means women need additional funds to support themselves after retirement. Today, we can no longer use the excuse of being shut out the financial markets by men. Digital apps and online trading websites give access to the stock market to anyone with internet access. Cryptocurrency trading is the next step in bringing everyone the opportunity to invest and grow your finances. The dream of financial freedom is for everyone and the critical time to begin this journey is now.

In her May 2021 interview for the magazine The Balance, Elaine Asher, Director of Corporate Treasury at Anchorage Digital, provided power insight into the key function women will play in the future of finance. "Not only can building wealth through investments help women overcome the gender wage gap and support them through their longer life expectancy, but it may also help businesses and have a social impact. That's because research has shown that the typical, socially responsible investor is a young, single female who is less wealthy, but better educated than their non-socially responsible counterparts." She goes on to say that women are "going to fund nonprofits. We're going to help poverty. We're going to help each other," Asher continued. "We're going to fund each other's businesses. We're going to seed more women entrepreneurs."

Through the education provided in this book, not only do I hope you gain a better understanding of cryptocurrency, but my desire is that you take action to utilize cryptocurrency as a vehicle to empower yourself and change your financial future! The same power system that kept women out of the voting booth and company boardrooms would be happy to see you blocked from then newest avenue for financial freedom. Current statistics still report that women only earn 78 cents women earn per dollar compared to men who perform the same jobs. Cryptocurrency investing offers the opportunity to destroy that wage earning gap and lift every woman to a new level of financial success.
