James P. Bennett, Jr. is a native of St. Petersburg, FL. He received a B.S. in Chemistry (with Honors) from the University of Florida (1970), attended Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for his M.D. (1974) and Ph.D. (Pharmacology, 1977) degrees.
