Yam bean is a legume but unlike its close relatives the soybean and other beans, the yam bean is cultivated for its large, tuberous roots. It is one of the neglected underutilized crops which is having the potential to contribute to food security, nutrition, dietary and culinary diversification, health and income generation. This is related to the efforts to fulfill the alternative sources of protein rich starch as food. It is commonly called Misrikand, Kesaru, Shankalu or Sankeshalu in different parts of India. The book includes the production technology of yam bean tubers. This book includes systematic research on spacing, fertilizer doses and many other agronomic aspects for production of yam bean tubers. The book will be useful not only for undergraduate and post graduate students of the different Agricultural and Horticultural universities but also for the professionals, who are actively engaged in the development of production technologies of yam bean tubers.
