The book is an endeavor to measure women s economic, political, sociocultural, legal and interpersonal or familial empowerment to scrutinize different activities at various economic, political, sociocultural, legal and familial spheres of women at the rural area of Bangladesh in family, community and national level. The findings suggest that, micro credit and its supportive programs have lead to a remarkable enhancement in social network formation and development, an improved status in family and community, increased mobility and to some extent also greater self-confidence

Md. Rahman is currently a senior Lecturer in Anthropology at Northern University Bangladesh. He has completed B.S.S and M.S.S from Dhaka University and secured first class 2nd position both BSS & MSS examination. His research areas are public health,natural hazard and disaster, women empowerment,ethnic groups,displacement & forced migration etc.
