Being separated from a loved one is hard. Being separated from a loved one for a long period of time is especially hard. But why is it that loved ones who serve in the military have to leave for so long? Why is it they have to miss important life events? Why I Must Go explains to children that their loved ones leave because they love them very much, and that they serve their country to protect and ensure their freedom. It is hard, but they are not forgotten. This book helps children understand that they are a service member's motivation and encouragement for what they do.

Autorenporträt
Jennifer attended the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 2011 with a degree in mechanical engineering. She then went on to serve almost eight years on active duty as a nuclear surface warfare officer before beginning a new journey: starting a family. She is now a military spouse of a current active duty naval officer and a mother of two young children. Writing in her spare time, Jennifer wants to help children understand what their loved ones do in the military and that their sacrifices are for the future of children in our country.
