Expanded edition, including a new interview with the man himself and revealing contributions from his family and Who insiders. 'Extraordinarily detailed... the best Townshend research tool ever' "Mojo"
This edition has been expanded to include a new interview with Townshend himself as well as some revealing contributions from members of his family and Who insiders. Having now reached his sixties, Townshend has battled drug and alcohol addiction while becoming one of rock's most eloquent and intelligent spokesman. Ventures as a solo artist, Internet pioneer, literary editor and short story writer have vied with one another while his well-publicised public rows with Who singer Roger Daltrey have become the stuff of legend ...and recent Who revival tours have ensured that the musician from West London who helped revolutionise 60s rock can still be seen doing what he became famous for in the first place. Meanwhile this new edition of a distinguished biography reminds us that the excitement that Pete Townshend has generated and brings this story right up to date with many fascinating stops on the way.
Autorenporträt
I was born in 1956 in Elkhart, Indiana and have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I joined the Air Force in 1976 and also have been in the Army and Army National Guard. In 1993, I was finally able to graduate college at Enid, Oklahoma after accumulating college courses here and there over 12 years mostly when in the service. In 1999, I semi-retired with a little over 20 years service. I am presently a guide at Hoover Dam but have also served as a garage ticket taker and Visitor Use Assistant over the span of 14+ years. I have liked to read many books over the years and decided to finally try to write one because of the challenge. Even if it is not monetarily successful just to overcome the challenge of telling a story for others to read about is very satisfying. I retired in 2014 from the government and I am disabled.
