Dr Lien Els spent her early career in academia, starting out as a German teacher at the age of twenty and eventually becoming a Professor in Education. Her love for and expertise in business and leadership propelled her to begin consulting to several South African companies, which led to her establishing and heading up an Academy for Business Development in the pharmaceutical industry in the same country. She later spent fifteen years in Dubai, where she joined the business schools of the Wollongong University of Dubai as Vice Dean and Head of PELT. She then moved on to take up a position as Campus Program Coordinator at Middlesex University of Dubai. During her time in the UAE, she was also involved in various consulting and training projects for the UAE government. With fifty-one years of experience under her belt, Lien retired at the end of 2019 to launch a start-up business, The Leadership & Coaching Company, with her partner and daughter, Louise Sockett. Lien is the co-author of twelve other books in the fields of education and business.
