Autorenporträt
Dr. Elroy Vojdani is a pioneer in the field of functional medicine and thefounder of Regenera Medical, a boutique functional medicine practice inLos Angeles, California. Warmly referred to as "Dr. V" by his patients,he is a licensed medical doctor and an Institute for Functional MedicineCertified Practitioner (IFMCP). Taking an innovative approach, Dr.Vojdani combines his medical training and knowledge with scientificallyproven methods and state-of-the-art lab testing to accurately diagnoseand treat chronic medical conditions.A native of Southern California, Dr. Vojdani grew up in Los Angeles. At thetender age of three, he eagerly spent time in the laboratory with his father androle model, Aristo Vojdani, PhD-who is regarded as "the father of functionalimmunology." Dr. V fondly recalls receiving the gift of a microscope fromhis father, which he then regularly used during summer school breaks spentin the lab running experiments with his father. Before entering first grade,Dr. V helped his father prepare for national and international lectures onimmunology, health, and science. Though these lectures were for educatorsand practitioners, Dr. V often quietly sat in the back of the conference hall tolisten to his father's presentations.During high school, Dr. V was a star athlete on the football team. Afterfracturing his ankle, he landed in the hospital-an experience that ignitedhis dream of becoming a doctor. Upon graduating from medical schoolat the University of Southern California and completing his residency atUSC's Keck School of Medicine, Dr. V began his career as an interventional radiologist-diagnosing and surgically treating complex, late-stage cancers and other extremely debilitating diseases. While this experience gave him unique insights into how radiology testing is conducted and interpreted, his desire to prevent or effectively treat disease-by finding and addressing the root cause-remained his core purpose for practicing medicine. Today, he continues in his father's footsteps-pioneering to find answers for chronic medical conditions that are often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed and/or mistreated/untreated. Each day, Dr. V meets patients who are at their wits' end from trying to find the cause of their chronic medical conditions. Drawing upon his medical training, his background in radiology, and his deep understanding of how blood tests are created and conducted, Dr. Vojdani utilizes his extensive knowledge and experience to accurately diagnose patient conditions, and then create a customized and effective treatment plan. His goal is to accurately identify and heal chronic medical conditions before they irreversibly consume the patient's life. Highly respected by his peers, Dr. V is well published in medical journals, and he lectures regularly at medical science-related symposiums. His groundbreaking published research on the causes of Alzheimer's is changing the way the medical community regards this debilitating disease. Today, more than 44 million people worldwide currently suffer from dementia-a number that is projected to triple in the next 30 years. The results of Dr. V's new research, combined with a simple blood test that he helped create, are helping people in their 40s and 50s find out if they are at risk of developing the disease, and how they can take measures to slow down the progress-or avoid it altogether. Dr. V is passionate about sharing his functional medicine teachings and practices with the world and believes that this life-changing form of medicine should be the future of health care. When he isn't helping patients, Dr. V enjoys traveling, hiking, spinning, yoga, cooking, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. He's also an avid reader of medical science journals to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and news.
