It often seems that our biggest problem with being human ... is being human! Here you will find down-to-earth and compassionate comments on some of the biggest issues that trouble us as we attempt to live fully and make sense of our lives. In often humorous responses, the guides talk plainly about the spiritual complexities involved in being human. "We'll start by introducing ourselves. We're spiritual beings like you. Except we don't have a body. But we did in the past, many times. We have repeatedly lived through the experience of occupying a human body and dealing with all the exciting, boring, wondrous and excruciating experiences that go with being human. We have been delirious with joy. We have suffered unimaginable pain. We have given birth. We have raised children. We have lost children. We have been slaves. We have been masters. We have oppressed. We have fought against oppression. We have experienced everything available to human beings. This is the experiential basis for our claim to authority on what you're living through now. We know because we've done it all." Topics include: ¿Why human beings are confused about their spiritual nature ¿The rationale and implications of reincarnation ¿ Does God really punish us when we screw up? ¿The difference between gut feelings and deep insights ¿A non-embodied view of what happens to us between lives ¿Is more than one of us here right now? ¿How can we know whether or not our pets have souls? ¿The different varieties and roles of spirit guides ¿If we're intrinsically good why is there so much evil? ¿What we are to the universe and its enveloping consciousness
Autorenporträt
The poet has spent most of his life mooching around. Seeking inspiration, he attended a celebrated writing course, but was soon noticed and ordered to leave. He won a prize once, but left it on the bus and never saw it again. The poet accepts children are required to continue the species, but let's face it, how many more do we need? The poet has spent way too many years staring into his shadow. Sad.
