Background With an increase in aesthetic demands, the use of all ceramic materials for fixed prosthesis have become the new normal. There are few limitations like wear of the restoration, fractures of the ceramic veneer, colour stability with all ceramics when compared with the gold standard metal ceramic restorations. With the advancements in CAD-CAM technology, various newer materials like PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) are being introduced in the field of dentistry which can be used as alternatives to all ceramics. Aim To compare and evaluate the wear resistance, antagonist wear, colour stability and displacement resistance of zirconia layered with ceramic and PEEK layered with indirect composite fixed dental prosthesis. Material and Methods The study evaluated the wear resistance, abrasiveness , colour stability and displacement resistance of the PEEK layered with indirect composite FDPs and Zirconia layered with indirect composite FDPs using a chewing simulator with aging, a Digital Spectrophotometer and a universal testing machine respectively. A independent sample "t" test was the statistical analysis performed using IBM SPSS Version 20.
