Agim Gjakova was born on the 11-th of July 1935. Native from Gjakova, Kosovo, he finished middle school in 1952 in Gjakova and began to study at the University of Belgrade. He was arrested and imprisoned for that he was against national and social discrimination of Albanians by Serbian regime in former Yugoslavia. He was expelled to Albania as persona non grata where he lived till the liberation of Kosovo in 1999. He worked as teacher, translator, journalist and screenwriter. Now is retired and live in Pristina, Kosovo.
