This study investigates the effectiveness of sandy landfill cover in preventing rainwater to enter the waste body by evaporation test. The landfill is located in Makkah, while the test is conducted in Malaysia. This study was carried out by using sandy soil and sandy soil with laterite on top of it and they were compared with previous study. From the result, it shows that laterite on top of sandy soil evaporated faster than than sandy soil sample.
