Therefore, results of this book showed the effect of discharge of agricultural and industrial wastes on some physical, chemical, and biological properties of surface water of the lake Water. Samples were collected seasonally from nine different sites from the southern and eastern part of the lake. The obtained results will be useful for the management of the lake.

O Dr. Serag completou o seu doutoramento em Ecologia do Sistema do Canal das Universidades de Mansoura-Lund 1989. Actualmente a trabalhar como professor de Ecologia na Universidade de Damietta. Publicou mais de 85 artigos de investigação em revistas nacionais e internacionais. Está interessado na diversidade vegetal e na gestão dos recursos naturais.
