Waking Up Dead and Confused Is a Terrible Thing: Stories of Love, Life, Death, and Redemption by Peter Falkenberg Brown A volume of stories for adults with a special section of tales that can be read to children, Waking Up Dead and Confused brings the reader on a journey of inquiry, of imagination, of nobility, and redemption. Peter Falkenberg Brown introduces us to these worlds and more: ~ a newly-dead bootlegger from the Maine woods ~ a grumpy old Count who wants to kill his Queen to save the kingdom ~ a spy who defies Kim Jong Un ~ a man whose heart is awakened by a squirrel and the Venus Transit ~ a monk searching for meaning in the grime of Las Vegas and Reno ~ an orchid crushed by the trauma of war ~ a husband and wife attacked by a horde of "devil bugs" Brown melds mysticism, heart, and common sense into a vibrant and thought-provoking series of questions, such as: ~ What is the meaning of life? ~ Do humans have a connection to a divine source? ~ Why is the face of the man in the moon sad? How was it formed? These are stories that will amuse, inspire, and activate "the little grey cells" of one's brain, as Hercule Poirot might say. Peter Falkenberg Brown lives in Maine with his dear wife and two lovely felines. They have four children who are even lovelier. But don't tell the cats.
Autorenporträt
Peter Falkenberg Brown writes frequently about "love, beauty, joy, and freedom," at his website https://peterfalkenbergbrown.com.=> The video on the right is an introductory synopsis of the book "The True Love Thing to Do: An Interactive Workbook on Finding Love and Preparing for an Enduring Marriage."Peter was raised in Portland, Maine on the West End. His family traces its routes back to William Browne of Boston who married his sweetheart in 1655, after leaving Scotland, probably on the run from Cromwell's armies, which is ironic since Peter's seventh great-granduncle Charles Fleetwood was the commander-in- chief of Cromwell's forces in Ireland and by all reports was a Bad Man. If Charles had met William, Peter might never have existed. Isn't history exciting?Peter rode off into the sunset on his bicycle when he was eighteen, got married, had four children in Virginia, and learned how to say "Y'all." He's been back now for a number of years, and is thrilled to once again sit on the rocky seacoasts of Maine and admire the ocean. He hosts the "Love, Freedom, & the World" YouTube Channel, which is focused on a mix of spirituality and freedom-centered cultural and political issues.
