Volcano Vista High School (VVHS) is a new public high school located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Volcano Vista High School is a part of the Albuquerque Public Schools. VVHS opened in August 2007 to 9th grade students only. The school added 10th and 11th grade students in the 2008-09 school year. The school now hosts the full range of classes from 9th to 12th grade (starting 2009-2010 school year). The school colors are Black and Platinum and the mascot is the Hawk. The school is still under construction and has approximately two more buildings left to be finished (as of September 2009). In 2010, the VVHS Mock Trial A-Team placed 2nd at regional competitions. On february 20, Volcano Vista won its first ever state championship when the wrestling team won it
