In this posthumous collection of poetry and writings, Dona Carol Bartoli leads us from poem to poem and we receive the fruit of a rich intellectual life. What you will experience in the ensuing pages is a rare gift that we did not know even existed. We knew that she wrote poems but had no idea of the output until it blossomed all around us in the days after her passing. She lived, loved, and created a world filled with beautiful things with an endless intensity. Encompassing more than sixty years of her life, these works reveal the elaborate and evolving music of her soul.

Autorenporträt
Dona Carol Bartoli was born in Baltimore in 1942. She attended Catholic High and obtained degrees from Villa Julie College and Morgan State University. She accomplished her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer at the age of 48, graduating from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. She practiced family law in Woodstock, Illinois for more than twenty years-opening her own practice on the Woodstock Square in 1996. She was a passionate advocate for children during custody battles. Dona and her husband of more than forty-five years, Larry Lowrimore, renovated Villa Torquato, a magnificent 16th century home in Tuscany with stunning views, and their olive oil is cherished annually by friends in Italy and America. She spent her final days there. The poems and writings in this book were discovered among her papers.
