The SEVIFI Expert Group (2017) defines violence by children against parents as a set of recurrent forms of physical, psychological or economic violence directed at parents or surrogates. This does not take into account one-off assaults, assaults that occur in a state of blackout and disappear upon recovery, assaults caused by psychological disorders, and patricide without a history of previous assaults. In 2016 alone, 4,355 cases of such violence were registered in Spain, which is a very high figure if all unregistered but existing cases are taken into account. The aim of this study is to collect information on risk and protective factors from the literature for a subsequent forensic psychological evaluation of a case of child-parent violence.
