Paul de Souza's passion for painting and writing began in earnest as a teenager. Since then, he has participated in numerous juried and group art shows, and has exhibited his work nationally and internationally. His work is featured in private collections, and he has received numerous awards, including a gold medal in Ottawa at a national art exhibition. Paul's poetry has received two first-place honours, and was published in the Dorothy Shoemaker Literary Awards. The judges were Canadian writer George Jonas and publisher Hugh McClelland. Paul lives in Cambridge, Ontario, where he retired after almost 34 years of service to Canada Post with his common-law wife Mickey Bear. They lovingly share five children and five grandchildren. Paul continues his compositions in paint and words with excitement and dedication.
