This UV-spectrophotometric technique is quite simple, accurate, precise,reproducible, and sensitive. The UV method has been developed for quantification of Methylphenidate in tablet formulation. It involves absorbance measurement at 288 nm ( max of Methylphenidate) in Ethanol and distilled water (89:11) ratio. For the UV Spectrophotometric method, linearity was obtained in a concentration range of 1-50µg/ml for methylphenidate and with a regression value of 0.9998.
