Produktbeschreibung
This pocket guide is an easy-to-use, practically oriented resource that provides reliable information and advice on the technical aspects of urodynamic techniques, the interpretation of tracings, quality control, and the most common pitfalls. Individual sections focus on uroflowmetry, multichannel urodynamics, interpretation of pressure/flow tracings, urethral function studies, pelvic floor electromyography, videourodynamics, and urodynamics of the upper urinary tract. Despite recent criticisms, there is general agreement that urodynamic investigation represents a necessary step before any surgical approach to incontinence and obstruction. Nevertheless, recently published guidelines fail to provide specific directions on performance and interpretation of urodynamics, and knowledge of the basic rules and formal urodynamics training are too often lacking. Readers will find that this guide enables them to retrieve key information quickly and to feel more confident in their practice of urodynamics.

Rezensionen
"Editor G. Vignoli wrote this practical pocketbook to provide the reader with an appropriate description of urodynamic techniques, focusing on various aspects of test's accuracy and patient's evaluation. ... This well-illustrated textbook is a concise synopsis of urodynamics, very helpful for practitioners anxious to improve their knowledge with practical information. Many figures illustrate each chapter and the author provides the reader with a listing of additional resources." (European Urology Today, March-May, 2017)
"Urodynamic technicians and residents will find this handy pocket reference useful and easy to digest. The book clearly presents the basic fundamentals of urodynamics and includes numerous pictures and urodynamic tracings that provide both concrete instruction and examples of how to interpret urodynamic findings. Overall, this would be ideal for anyone learning how to perform urodynamics and for residents starting to learn about urodynamics and common lowerurinary tract dysfunction." (Alana Murphy, Doody's Book Reviews, March, 2017)
