Samuel Hahnemann, dt. Arzt, geb. am 10.4.1755 Meißen, gest. am 2.7.1843 Paris. Seit 1775 studierte er Medizin in Leipzig und wurde 1779 in Erlangen promoviert. Bis 1784 arbeitete Hahnemann in Hettstedt und als Physikus in Gommern. Anschließend gab er seine Praxis auf und bildete sich zum Gerichtsmediziner weiter. 1811 siedelte er nach Leipzig über, wo er sich habilitierte. Wegen Streitereien mit der Apothekerschaft wurde er 1821 der Stadt verwiesen. Er ging nach Köthen, wo er eine Praxis aufbaute, die später durch sein Wirken international bekannt wurde. 1835 zog er nach Paris um, wo er erneut bis zu seinem Tod eine Praxis führte.
