Christopher B. Barrett is Stephen B. and Janice G. Ashley Professor of Applied Economics and Management and International Professor of Agriculture in the Department of Applied Economics and Management, and Co-Director of the African Food Security and Natural Resources Management Program, Cornell University, USA. He is the Co-author of Food Aid after Fifty Years and Editor of The Social Economics of Poverty, also published by Routledge. Julia Steets is Associate Director of the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin.
