Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The 2010 Connecticut United States Senate election will be held on November 2, 2010 along other elections to the United States Senate in other states as well as elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Incumbent Democratic Senator Christopher Dodd''s approval ratings have dropped dramatically over the past years due to major controversies, eventually leading the five-term legislator to announce on January 6, 2010 that he will not seek re-election in the November 2010 race. Fellow Democrat Richard Blumenthal, the incumbent state Attorney General, announced on the same day that he will run for Dodd''s seat. There are currently three declared Republican candidates for their party''s nomination to run in the general election, and one Democrat besides Blumenthal declared as a candidate for the Democratic nomination. If a primary is held to determine either party''s Senatorial nomination, it will take place on August 10, 2010.
