Produktbeschreibung
The book entitled "Turtle Conservation in Northeast India: Community Awareness and Capacity Building" has been prepared as a part of turtle conservation and awareness efforts in northeast India for the young future conservationists. The conservation efforts highlighted in this book were supported by the 'CONSERVATION Leadership Program (CLP), Turtle Survival Alliance, USA and Rufford small grant's Foundation, UK. At the conjunction of the Himalayan and Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspots, the Northeast India has been poorly explored scientifically with regard to the conservation and monitoring of turtle fauna. This book highlighted the different conservation efforts of turtles carried out in the river Brahmaputra to sensitize and educate people about the significance of Chelonian presence and their conservation and to start a participatory endangered turtle conservation program. With financial support from the Rufford small grant for Nature Conservation, the turtle conservation program has been initiated in Northeast India with conservation education, local awareness, capacity building programs and community participation, which has been addressed in this book.
