The study was carried out in a dam where small scale fishery activities are taking place year round. The purpose was to determine the stock population parameters (SPP), stock status parameters (SSP) and to categorize each species into degrees of resilience and productivity using American Fishery Society indices (AFSI). Size frequency data (SFD) and total catches (TC) per fisher were randomly collected as samples. The TC were collected thrice a week while SFD were collected once a month, covering both wet and dry seasons. Four families, six genera and six species of fishes were encountered in…mehr

Four families, six genera and six species of fishes were encountered in the dam. The SFD and TC were analyzed with set of Standard empirical Models for Stock Assessment (SEMSA). The results obtained include 20 SPP and 14 SSP for each fish species.
