Produktbeschreibung
Straight from Zandro Tumaliuan's sketchbooks, this coffee table book contains drawings done while on personal and business trips in England, France, the United States, the Philippines and around his own backyard, Canada. Rather than taking photos, as an urban sketching aficionado the artist prefers to draw the scenery, the active street scenes, and the unique buildings that he sees. He prefers historic buildings and buildings with character. Because sketches are done on site, there is always the challenge of finding a good spot and having enough time to capture the "soul" of a structure. He is not particular with the details, such as the number of floors or the number of windows. Some of his sketches are simple, others are elaborate. Every time he steps out of the house, he carries with him his assorted pens, his sketchbook, travel watercolour set and his enthusiasm to be able to draw something new each day. Travelogue in Sketches is also the author/artist's way of sharing his travel diary, an authentic visual story of his experiences and observations. Let this book be your travel guide, carry it around with you, or let it grace your living room as it serves as a conversation piece between you, your family, and friends.
Autorenporträt
Zandro Tumaliuan was born and raised in the Philippines. He grew up in a quiet and laid-back town of San Pablo in the province of Isabela. This small town is where he took inspiration in becoming an architect from a 17th century church a stone's throw away from his parents' house. Unknowingly, he started urban sketching at a young age when he got bored and started drawing the church and everything around it. He now resides in British Columbia, Canada. His love of travelling and sketching prompted him to release the first of hopefully many coffee table books featuring two of his main interests.
