Imagine arriving in Marseilles in the late afternoon, renting a car for the first time, and spending over 4 hours looking for your hotel--only to end up at a cemetery with a stranger driving your car! Imagine arriving in Marseilles in the late afternoon, renting a car for the first time, and spending over 4 hours looking for your hotel--only to end up at a cemetery with a stranger driving your car! That is indeed what happened to two grannies, who decided their story needed to be told. Their range of experiences fluctuated between the ENTHRALLING, the PERPLEXING and, most definitely, the INCONCEIVABLE. Read about one problem after another problem, intermingled with so many delightful encounters along the way. Laugh your way through, as you wonder if these women will ever travel again. As a bonus, see the attached Travel Hints section to avoid stumbling along as they did.
Autorenporträt
ARLENE BUICK Being a small town girl from Duncan, British Columbia, Canada, Arlene is excited about writing her first book. It has been on her Bucket List, as was her desire to travel to Europe, ever since her teen years. Arlene drives a dazzling, red mustang convertible, which was another item on her Bucket List. She loves her children and is so very proud of Morgen, Taliesyn, Adrianne and Devon. Being a grandmother has demonstrated to her the purest form of love. Having been an elementary school teacher for over 24 years was extremely rewarding, but Arlene is now retired and enjoying every minute of it. The arts are her passion. Dancing gives her life, but she also loves singing and has performed in both of those endeavours. She is exploring her talents in drawing and painting, as well as, jewelry making. Besides Arlene's multitude of interests, she especially enjoys activities with her many friends. Currently, residing in Kelowna, BC, a summer and winter resort city, Arlene cannot wait to travel again and write about her exciting experiences. SUZANNE DELISLE Suzanne Delisle grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan but has lived in Kelowna, British Columbia, for the past 25 years. With her two, beautiful daughters, Stacey and Leslie, on their own journey of discovery, she decided to pursue a new path for herself as well. A retired Library Technician, Suzanne now fills her days with the outdoors and her grandchildren when she is "back at home" from Costa Rica. Spending her winters in Costa Rica have resulted in time to pursue her love blogging, and of developing her venture as a "holiday planner". Travelling Grannies Without GPS is but an extension of her passion for writing and travelling. The best part, Suzanne says, was to share this incredible experience with such a wonderful lady and friend. She hopes that you too will feel like you are part of their journey and that you will be transported into their world of incredulous predicaments, laughter, and enduring camaraderie.
