Medicine is a field of knowledge in accelerated scientific and technological development that each year incorporates a large number of new terms into the medical lexicon. Inexperienced and amateur translators do not perform deep and precise research into the terms that have already been translated in medical literature, thus causes highly heterogeneous translations from one publication to another. Terminology is one of the difficulties that can be faced in medical translation. It is difficult for the translator to understand the text for terms with different meanings. Opposition for potentialities in the Persian language is due to lack of knowledge of these problems. This study investigates the procedures and their features applied in the translation process of the selected medical terms from English into the Persian language.
