This study was aimed to explore the expectation of Jorvi surgical ward nurses about cooperation with the intensive care unit nurses and other staff, when a patient is transferred to the surgical ward to create a clear transfer process. The aim was to discover what information is relevant to the nurses receiving the patients from the intensive care unit, to identify any issues/ concerns that occur when receiving patients from the ICU. The theoretical background was based on earlier studies on transition from ICU. The research consisted of open and closed ended questions which were used to collect data from the surgical wards of Jorvi hospital. Questionnaires were in both Finnish and English so that the nurses may express in the language that they are comfortable with. Permission to participate in this study from the research group was assumed participation in the study. Analysis of data was done through reading, analysing and interpretation of the research questions.
