There were many others prior and after the event that had a connection, although they were not always aware of it; a friend from the childhood neighbourhood, an acquaintance, a friend of a friend, a partner in crime. Some links were tenuous, others not so. Johnny grew up amongst the bomb-sites of post-war London. His hankering for a better quality of life resulted in his involvement in nefarious activities that led to that night in August 1963, and it would determine the rest of his life.
